2001 saw me painting my first mandala. The experience for me was magical and I was excited and amazed at what I had produced. The first painting is titled 'Yellow Circle Serpents¹ depicting two snakes entwined.
Later I thought of doing the same design with different colours 'Blue Snakes¹ ,giving a completely different feel. Serpents are extremely symbolic in many ancient belief systems. They represent regeneration and wisdom. I looked at the paintings later and they seemed somehow to show the seeds of creativity being sown and from which would come transformation. But each person who views them will experience something different.
I painted the mandalas on display here over a period of 3 years. Colour works on vibrational frequency the same as sound . Colour always excites me and I find certain combinations of colours ' sing¹ . The paintings were originally done in water colour which has a certain vibrancy and translucency reflecting light.
If you like any of these paintings they are for sale as giclee print on white paper unmounted which are a done to a very high standard printed on archival quality watercolour paper with light fast inks guaranteed to last 75 years without fading.
he prints measure 59cms. square approx.and cost £35 + £3 postage and packing to anywhere in the U.K. They are sent by First class post and recorded delivery which requires a signature on delivery and can be tracked should it go astray in the post.
